Sony has rolled out “Ice Cream Sandwich” update for Sony Xperia P today in INDIA. The update has increased Standby mode by whooping four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption). Android 4.0 is a feature rich mobile OS and no doubt Sony has used it at its best.
Apart from amazing ICS features like re-sizable widgets, mobile data consumption monitor and a new multitasking menu, Sony has updated its core software functionality with an improved lock–screen and an improved Walkman music player app.
As always, the update cannot be installed OTA (over the air), but has to be enabled via a manual sync. It can be updated via the PC Companion software on a Windows machine and on a Mac it can be updated via Mac Bridge software.
The update includes these exclusive features from Sony:
- New ways to experience your media with new media applications – “WALKMAN,” “Album” and “Movies”
- Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to 4 times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
- Lock screen with improved functionality
Sony Xperia U, Xperia Sola, and Xperia Go are next on the upgrade list to receive Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Sony has even promised to fix Network problem in Xperia U in its update which is to be released very soon.
